Obituary of Thomas Russell Smith

On February 17, 2022, Thomas Russell Smith, known to everyone as Tom, passed away peacefully.

 

 Tom was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy as a control tower operator from 1971-1975. He retired as an engineer, employed by the State of Maryland. Tom enjoyed going on many trips to the beach, as well as watching baseball and football, and going to the racetrack. Tom was a longstanding member of the Towson Elks, and the Dewey Lowman American Legion.

 

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Donna Berardino-Smith; sisters: Debra Dorsey, and her husband Bob, and Tina Barretto, and her husband Joe; brother: Christopher Smith and his wife Diane; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

 

Tom is proceeded in death by his parents Thomas Eugene and Gwendolyn (Crystal) Smith.

 

There will be a celebration of life for Tom’s life later in the spring.
