Obituary of Harvey Reaney

Harvey Edward (Ed) Reaney, Jr., 96, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on June 4, 2021. A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church located at 3100 Monkton Road, Monkton, MD 21111 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021. The internment will be private. Ed was born in Baltimore to Harvey E. Reaney, Sr. and Lillie May Kidwell Reaney on March 11, 1925. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in December 1942 where he served in the Pacific during WWII. He held the rank of Corporal and was discharged in February 1946. After his military service, he studied to become a master electrician and worked at industrial facilities around Baltimore for four decades. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #24 and honored in 2020 as a 50-year member. On April 29, 1949, Ed married Dorothy Lee Reaney (nee Rohrer) and raised two daughters. He was an active member in American Legion Post #137 and enjoyed hunting, breeding beagles for field trials and vacationing with family and friends. Ed is survived by his daughters Sharon Lee Muhler and husband Roger Muhler of White Hall, Maryland, and Linda Sue Riggleman and husband Butch Riggleman of Delmar, Delaware, in addition to four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years, Dorothy Reaney (see Dorothy's May 13, 2021 Obituary). Memorial donations can be made to Semper Fi & America's Fund, semperfifund.org.
