Obituary of Rose Marie Dietrich

On June 14, 2021, Rose Marie Dietrich passed away in the Baltimore, Maryland. Born February 9, 1929, in Lansdowne, MD as Rose Marie Latham to Reginald and Sarah Latham. Predeceased in death by siblings: Patrick (Ted) Latham, Mary Danavitch, Charles Latham, Margaret Kinstler, Eugene Latham, Theresa Stewart, Anna Wood, and John Latham, Sr. Rose was schooled and worshipped at St. Clements for many years. Later, she attended St. Augustine and St. Joseph’s Monastery. She enjoyed going on trips and bingo lunches at both parishes. She was married to Martin Lawrence Dietrich, Jr. (passed in 1973). Rose is survived by their four children: Linda Calabrese, Martin Lawrence Dietrich, III, Marlene Raglin and Gail Dorr. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Rose was proprietor of “Rosie’s Café” on S. Bentalou Street in Baltimore. She retired from Ryland Homes where she had been a model home coordinator for over fourteen years. Rose was a wicked 500-rummy player. Her favorite activity was shopping at Walmart. She lived a full life and said many time “it doesn’t get any better.” Visitation will be held at the locally-owned Loudon Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD (21229) on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 AM. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery (Glen Burnie.) In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in her memory to Gilchrist Hospice Care, 555 West Towsontown Blvd, Towson, Maryland (21204.)
